Appraiser

Appraiser is the award-winning music production studio founded by Ryan Hope and Ari Balouzian. Based in Los Angeles, Appraiser has made a name for itself through groundbreaking film scores, commercial compositions, and their artist project ‘Gabriels’.

Gabriels 2021 debut EP, "Love and Hate in a Different Time," received high praise, with Elton John calling it “one of the most seminal records I have heard in the last ten years.” Their 2023 album "Angels & Queens" (prod. By Sounwave) was met with global critical acclaim, earning 5-star reviews from The Guardian and NME and a spot on the BBC Radio 6 Album of the Year list. David Byrne also cited them as one of his biggest inspirations in a 2022 WIRED interview.

Some Kind Of Heaven (Magnolia), RenFaire (HBO), the upcoming Primetime (A24), and Monsters of God (A24) are the notable works that are composed by Ari and produced out of Appraiser.

The score for Netflix's The Turnaround received a sports Emmy in 2025 and commercial campaigns for Calvin Klein, Gucci, Prada, Amazon, Guinness, and Hugo Boss round out Appraiser's discography.
